I have 18 years experience as an English, History, Social Studies and Drama teacher in South Auckland. I was Head of English at Tangaroa College for three years and Head of Dance and Drama for five years. I have also had the role of Specialist Classroom Teacher.
- My teaching practise has been referred to in a book on educational theory: Listen to Culture, by Professor Angus MacFarlane of Canterbury University [NZCER 2004].
- Literacy strategies I use were outlined in an address by Professor Terry Locke [Education Department, Waikato University] at a conference of the New Zealand Association for Research in Education.
